The book "House of Brothers" by Dave Neuberger '75 has built a buzz among people who saw it at the IB. The 140+ page coffee table book chronicles the history of 32 Hereford Street, the Andrew family that built the house, the Beta Chapter of Chi Phi, and all the folks who have worked for the Chapter over the years. Ariel Warszawski '90 compiled a massive section of Chi Phi memories for which dozens of brothers wrote in to share their stories.

Despite a blizzard throughout the northeast, more than 100 alumni attended the annual Initiation Banquet in 2008. The actives, and in particular the sophomores who coordinated the huge event, did an outstanding job in hosting brothers from the 1940s to the present (with extra attendance by brothers from the 1970s, a leap-year tradition). 

At the annual board meeting of The Beta Foundation, the board approved a resolution in recognition of the campaign generosity of Denman "Mac" MacNear '48, approving a new scholarship program called the McNear-Galliard 22 The Fenway Award, honoring Mac, his pledge brother Dave Galliard (Chapter Eternal), and all alumni brothers who lived at 22 The Fenway. 

Brother John Coffman '66 sent his regrets that he could not come to the Initiation Banquet, but met with Campaign Committee Chairman Bill Frezza '76 to make an Alpha Circle donation to the Ensuring Brotherhood for Generations campaign.
